THE 5th GRADE OF OUR SCHOOL CELEBRATES
The European Year of Languages 2021 was organized by the Council of Europe and the European Union. Its activities celebrated language variety in Europe and tried to make the idea of language learning more popular.
On the 26th of September together with our English teacher, we celebrated the European Day of Languages at school. The activities we did celebrate the linguistic diversity of Europe and promote language learning.
We brainstormed ideas on why we should learn foreign languages and organized the results in mindmaps to decorate our classroom. Finally, we made language trees: we draw trees on cardboard, cut out paper leaves and wrote the phrase good morning in different languages. (The language tree activity is inspired by the French online project for the promotion of multilingualism).
